Breaking Barriers, Opening Doors
Our Causes
Caring Community Foundation works tirelessly to provide quality, long-term solutions for a number of pressing issues affecting our community. Our most significant causes are those that are often brushed aside by most. Our battle is against indifference, and we would love for you to become part of that change today.
Holiday Shopping Spree for At-Risk Youth
Caring Community Foundation partners with New Directions for Youth to provide a holiday shopping spree for 50 at-risk youth in the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles area. Volunteers accompany kids in shopping for items they desperately need such as clothing, shoes, and school supplies as well as holiday gifts to share with other family members.
Mitzvah Day for Foster Kids
Caring Community Foundation partners with the Department of Children and Family Services to create 400 comfort bags for children going into foster care. Volunteers fill duffel bags with toiletries, school supplies, games, stuffed animals, blankets, custom decorated pillow covers, and other items to bring the comfort to the kids as they are faced with adjusting to a new environment and a new home.
Teen Engagement Opportunities
L' Taken Washington DC Trip
Caring Community Foundation partners with various organizations to provide scholarship opportunities for for teens to participate in meaningful weekend trips to foster involvement in social justice focused on Jewish values, tikkun olam, and public policy. These trips are invaluable to the mission of getting teens engaged in important issues they will be facing as they help to shape the future and change the world.
Partnership with Undies for Everyone
Caring Community Foundation is excited about the creation of a three way partnership which includes
Undies For Everyone and My Pipers. Undies For Everyone is a non-profit organization based in Houston whose belief is that undies should only ever be a barrier when they’re between you and your clothes. They should never be a barrier to cleanliness, to confidence, or to time spent in class. For too many in our midst, this is still not the reality. Through the donation of several hundred pairs of boxer shorts for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 10, Caring Community Foundation is happy to provide kids in need with fresh underwear to keep them clean, confident, and in class.
